There’s a new movie version of Anna Karenina coming out in November. (Starring, everyone say it with me: Kiera Knightly. Does she like wearing corsets?? What happened to the comfortable gym shorts in Bend it Like Beckham??? Anyway.)
This has sparked angst-filled conversations about how we all really should have read this monstrously long novel ages ago. But. It’s monstrously long.
Still, none of us could live with ourselves if we saw the movie and didn’t read the book.
So, here’s the (totally doable) plan:
Part 1: 116 pagesPart 2: 120 pagesTotal pages = 236
Part 3: 116 pagesPart 4: 84 pagesTotal pages = 200
Part 5: 114 pagesPart 6: 120 pagesTotal pages: 234
Part 7: 98 pagesPart 8: 50 pagesTotal pages: 148
Leeway because HA we are no longer in college and have jobs and lives and… ok, mostly just jobs.
Stay tuned for our Week 1 recap coming to a blog near you. (Eventually.) ((Maybe.)) (((Most probably not in a timely manner. This book is LONG.)))
