3.5 hours into overtime, Boss takes a mental break and checks his Facebook.
Boss: OMZ, Leslie Nielsen DIED?! My uncle’s facebook says “RIP Leslie Nielsen, thanks for all the laughs and don’t call me Shirley.”
Entire Room: WHAT? No! Aww! [etc.]
Coworker: But he’s so young!
Polly: Really? He must have been at least late 50s during the Naked Gun and that was [counting] … a long time ago.
Coworker 2: Oh, I can’t believe it! I love all his movies!
Boss: I can’t type fast with these sausage fingers. Someone, quick, find out how old he was and what happened!
[We furiously commence the Wikipedia race]
Coworker: Uh, it says he died in November of 2010…
Polly: 84. Told you he was old.
Boss: What the f**k is wrong with my uncle?! My family is full of idiots. Especially me. Ok, commenting… “RIP 11/28/2010. Good luck, we’re all counting on you.”
I love Leslie Nielsen, and when I thought he died again I was heartbroken. Take a few moments to remember this comic genius by watching a hastily thrown together youtube fan video.
